About Sean Campbell

Dr. Campbell is an orthopaedic trauma surgeon specializing in the treatment of complex fractures, fracture-healing complications, and challenging periarticular injuries of the lower extremity.

His practice focuses on patients who require complex decision-making and reconstruction, including periarticular fractures, nonunion, malunion, post-traumatic deformity, bone loss, and complications following prior fracture surgery. These problems require careful consideration of each patient’s goals along with a detailed understanding of fracture biology, mechanics, and limb alignment. His approach combines extensive experience treating high-energy trauma with a focused interest in restoring function when fractures fail to heal or prior treatment has not achieved the desired outcome.

Dr. Campbell is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic traumatologist and Associate Professor of Clinical Orthopaedic Surgery at UC Davis. In addition to clinical care, he is actively involved in resident and fellow education, clinical research, and innovation in fracture care. He has authored more than 90 peer-reviewed publications and teaches nationally on the management of complex fractures. He is currently pursing an Executive MBA with a focus on healthcare leadership and innovation.
